Craig Brewer announces next project

Craig Brewer, director of "Hustle & Flow" and "Black Snake Moan" (currently in production), announced "Step in the Name of Love "as his next project. He is writing this film with Carl Seaton, writer/director of "One Week", and Kenny Young.

The story is set in Chicago.

"Inside Man" is scheduled to premiere in March 2006. This is Spike's latest movie after 2004's "She Hate Me".

Spike Lee: That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It

Spike Lee's new book That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It as told to Kaleem Attab is an interesting book that provides a compelling story of the events and conflicts that occurred in the production of many of Spike Lee's films. Told through commentary provided from actors, filmmakers and Spike Lee himself, this book provides a good introduction to the character and ideology of this acclaimed filmmaker.

Beginning with an acknowledgement of Spike's contributions to cinema, the book makes the case that Spike Lee paved the way for current African-American filmmakers and actors. Through comments from people working with Spike Lee, the reader begins to paint a picture of the sometimes domineering but always charismatic personality of this filmmaker. The book does a great job in revealing Spike's reasoning behind many of the controversial decisions he made throughout his career.

The book is littered with criticisms of Spike Lee from movie reviewers, political figures and actors. These critiques are countered by quotes from Spike Lee, actors and other filmmakers. Although this book isn't meant to replace previous books Spike Lee has released about his earlier films, it is still an interesting book that is worth reading for Spike Lee fans and those interested in learning more about the filmmaker.
